a new year wish a fine line which demarcates the prosper and the worst
on the other day there was a discussion going on tamil news channel which i happend to watch when i was switching between the frequencies. the discussion was obviously about the delhi rape case (thanks to them as it was not about the 16 year old boy who came to face waqqur younis in pakistan 23 years ago in hid debut). as the the guest was a lady doctor, naturaly the discussion went towards giving proper sex educaiton in schools , especially to male children and make them to understand what a female is all about in this society. during the course of the discussion the doctor was saying the "if it had been a minor male who had commited the rape or any sexual offense against a lady , we would recomend the govt to put him in a prison school". there came a fantastic question from the host , she asked
"then that means if the crime had been committed a day before his 18th birth day then he will be put in to jail school. but if it the same had been been committed a day later then he will be sent to jail. now how does one day makes the difference in assessing the male who is already in the mentality of treating a lady as a material and in the moood of commiting the sexual violance..?"
for which the doctor was not having any other answer aprt from the usual answer of saying "some where we have to draw a line".
now here comes the role of a government when it deals which people commit sucha kind of mistake.certanly the host was rite , a day cant change ur whole way of ur views and thinking. just for sake of wrting up a history which this social order want the next generation to read rather mug up the spellings it can say that sidhratha saw 3 different scenes when he came out from palace and went to sit under a tree to attain he gyana. but the truth is different even to understand a simple concept of a quadratic equation a child has to cross various stages in its life right from its kinder garden to class seven!!.
when schools are saying that its the schools where u learn the decipline. and the way the schools are defining this very word decilpline is very contradictory. that decipline is being measured in schools in terms of ur attendance in terms of ur panctuality and of-course ur behavoiur towards the opposite sex especially the behavour of male children towards the female
i remeber through out my school time all the males who had publicly displayed that they have been attracted by a female are punished as if its a crime and the teachers who punishes them proudly says that they bring the decipline in to the male student. instead of explaining the about the natural bilogical changes and the complexity of this scociety they punishes an scares them. i would say this is as equal as punishing someone who says when they wants to pee...!
if this is the environment in an organised institutions like schools then imagine about the 40 % of Indian which is still illiterate.!!!. jus imagine how a male will visualize a female in this globalaised environment which commercializes women always. as no one is there to control all these their com-modification is visible in various manifestations .a few may be
*giving useless roles to women in almost 100 % of all the films.
*comodify her in fashion shows and porn sites (though its the only resource to know what an intercourse in human being is all about!!)
*even if she is a talented sports star or a politician , the media sees her beauty as an extra advantage and many at times it out plays the talent.
*even historic importence of women's day is also brought down to the level of rangoli competitions.
*the pregnancy time of a lady is many at times seen as a burden for the company she works and most of the times its when her carrier and economical codependency gets stopped even in 2012 it gets reduced to kitchens. and if they fite some times it may end in a divorce too.
the more the economy is ungoverned by a government the more the above phenomena increases. and more the above phenomena increases the more the woman gets commodified.the result is
them more the govermant making itself away from the market the more women gets commodified.!!! and no market force will ever come forward to change this as they always want to build ontheir base. and again one fine day when the result of this comidified views ends in a rape or in a dowry offence or any sexual harassment or prostitution the people will be arrested and sentenced.
so establishing a change in the socety has to be carried from top by the governing body an it can never araise from bottom because any change from bottom will be brutally crucified by this social order. unless such a neat process starts from the top ,
a simple transition of dec 31 to jan 1
a simple one day transition of age 17 to age 18
will not bring any change in this society or an induvidual.
